June 30th, 2009

Menopause symptoms after hysterectomy can be worse in some ways then the symptoms experience by women going through the process naturally. Menopause is the period when a woman’s body starts to produce less and less estrogen. As the levels of estrogen decrease many changes happen in the body that bring on what we think of as menopause symptoms. Hot flashes, irritability, weight gain, etc. can all be attributed to the decrease in estrogen levels. Usually the decrease in estrogen levels is gradual and the symptoms come on slowly. With the removal of the ovaries in a hysterectomy a woman stops producing estrogen immediately and with no gradual decrease. This can cause the onslaught of many symptoms almost overnight and can be very hard to cope with. Hormone replacement therapy is often a course of treatment with women experience menopause symptoms after a hysterectomy.

HD Projector Contrast

June 30th, 2009

One consideration you should give some thought to when setting up your home cinema, and in fact specifically when making the decision over which HD projector to purchase is picture contrast.

Picture contrast is the measure of how well your HD projector handles the difference between dark and light images.  Good contrast should give a clear definition between dark areas on the screen and lighter areas.

Typically for an LCD HD projector the contrast ratio is of the order of 400:1 which is acceptable quality, however the more technologically advanced DLP HD projector, which is generally considered to be a superior HD projector design is capable of giving much greater contrast rations than the LCD HD projecter.  Indeed the contrast ratio for a DLP HD projector may well reach 4,000:1.

Solar energy is a clean energy that protects the environment. Its works only from sun light et therefore produces no gas emissions, that we know are responsible for global warming.

On a personal level, advantages of solar energy are also very noticeable. Heat is used to produce energy. Sun light is the source of heat which warms a fluid which in turns will cause a turbine to work. This turbine will transmit the impulsion needed to produce electricity.

Thanks to photovoltaic technology the heat collected from sunlight can also be stored. Solar energy has three major advantages:
it uses all the sun’s rays from ultraviolet to infrared
It produces an alternating current which allows to be directly hooked up to the electric network using it
Although the source is not conventional the technical means used to convert the energy are conventional and therefore are using proven technologies.

Loyalty To A Compound Bow

June 29th, 2009

Everyone who calls archery their sport has a favorite compound bow and as a result there are strong allegiances for particular bow manufacturers. You simply have to visit one of the many archery forums online to realize that Joe Blow is a Bowtech fanatic and won’t here a bad word spoken against his beloved Bowtech Allegiance compound bow and particularly not from a despised Mathews user.

It’s not logical and sometimes can be very amusing but it also indicates great passion in the archery / hunting community. Some shooters develop a bond with their bow due to the reliable service it has given them and this loyalty is paid back with a fierce determination to encourage others to appreciate the qualities you do. In effect it’s a way to earn some kind of validation that your loyalty is justified.

What is The Best Instrumental Music Song?

June 29th, 2009

I get the question all the time: What is the best instrumental music song? The truth of the matter is I think there is no “best” instrumental music song. You have to consider all the different genres and personal tastes that people have. So, to do my best I will tell you what my favorite Jazz Instrumental Christmas song is.

My favorite Jazz Instrumental Christmas song is none other than “Christmas Time Is Here” by a legend in the Jazz instrumental music world: Vince Guaraldi. In the original recording he played it using the piano and if you’re thinking, “Isn’t that the soundtrack to that one classic Christmas TV special?” you would be right on the nose. I love how this song isn’t like all the other sappy Christmas songs that make you want to go deaf.

Requirements for Teaching ESL

June 28th, 2009

In order to be an English teacher in a foreign country, you need to meet a few requirements. The first requirement that you need is a university degree from a four year university. The degree doesn’t need to be in English, it just needs to be in any subject. Another requirement is that you need to be a native English speaker. English must be your first language in order to qualify for a job.

Those are the two basic requirements for teaching English in a foreign country. In some countries, you can get away with not having a university degree. This is true in many rural areas where people it is very hard for people to attract English teachers. Because of this, they sometimes don’t follow the proper rules and bend them due to necessity.

Another requirement you need to know about how to teach English overseas, is that you will need a TEFL degree. A TEFL degree is the result of a 120 hour course that teaches you how to teach English to non-native people as well learn classroom management skills. In many countries, having a TEFL degree is a requirement for a visa. If you plan on being an English teacher for a long time, it is worth getting the degree.

How Does Benzoyl Peroxide Work Against Acne?

June 28th, 2009

A common form of acne is Propionibacteria acne or simply, P. acne. These bacteria are the ones causing the break out and spread of acne on skin. However, these parasites cannot live in areas that are rich in oxygen, or what is known as “aerobic environments.” Benzoyl peroxide helps stop the spread and even cures P. acne by supplying oxygen to affected areas; thus, killing unwanted bacteria. Another helpful way benzoyl peroxide heals acne is through the elimination of excess dead skin cells over affected areas. This way, the debris of acne is totally peeled off the skin thus totally preventing further spread. Even after acne cellular debris is removed from the skin this chemical should be continuously used over a certain period of time. Acne may just seem to clear up, but bacterium population may still stretch if not fully treated.

It Came from the 70′s and Beyond

June 28th, 2009

I don’t venture too far from my home on most days if I can help it.  I don’t like traffic too much and I usually have plenty to do around the house.  I recently found myself in a “trendy” part of town however and it made me feel very out of touch.  There were so many people who seemed so different from me.  Some were dressed all in black, some were hardly wearing anything at all, and there were some people who looked like they did their shopping at a 70′s clothes store.

Nothing eventful happened, and I know enough to realize that the way a person dresses really has nothing to do with who they really are.  I just found it interesting and almost like a tiny adventure to watch them as they all passed by.  I guess we all live in our own little worlds up to a point.  The day was an interesting reminder of that.

Direct TV Deals For 2009

June 27th, 2009

One of the most competitive industries is satellite TV.  Not only do the two major providers, Dish Network and Direct TV have to battle each other, but then there are cable TV companies fighting for business too.  In addition, Verizon now offers cable TV service in many areas.  Because of this, there are tremendous Direct TV deals out there for potential subscribers.  They will give you free four room installation, a free HD DVR, and also a discounted rate for the first year.  The only thing to look out for is the price increase that occurs once the promotion is over.   Even then, I find that the prices are still very good when I compare it to what I am paying to the cable company in my neck of the woods.

Can Anyone Wear Contact Lenses?

You may be thinking about putting down your glasses and getting contact lenses. You may wonder if you can wear them and if it’ll hurt to wear contacts.

First, it doesn’t hurt. Your eyes do amazing things. When you get a small speck of something in your eye, it’s irritating and it hurts – pretty bad sometimes. But your eyes are able to tell the difference between something small and something larger and it just so happens that it doesn’t mind larger things like contact lenses.

Think about it, your eyelids are large and they’re going across your eyes every few seconds when you blink and that doesn’t hurt. So your eyes can handle large, lenses being put in them and it doesn’t hurt. If it did hurt, there wouldn’t be millions of people wearing contact lenses, that’s for sure.

Getting contacts in and out is trcky at first but you get used to it after a few days.

If you are thinking about wearing contact lenses, your best bet is to see your eye doctor or eye care professional. They can give you the proper vision tests and let you know if you’re a candidate for wearing them. Even if you have astigmatism, you are able to get special ones called toric contact lenses.

Find out more at the Free Contact Lenses Guide.
