Are Chlorine Tablets for Swimming Pools Harmful?

Chlorine tablets and chlorine use in swimming pools in general has been blamed for a number of ailments including skin rashes, irritable eyes and breathing difficulties. It should be stressed however, that this method of cleansing swimming pools, both private and public has been used for many years and the number of cases are extremely rare.

Remember that the alternatives to cleaning your pool would be very nasty bugs and bacteria in the water which could cause you all sorts of trouble. Not only does chlorine remove bacteria from your pool, it also prevents algae build up in and around your pool and maintains the correct pH level of your swimming pool water (the pH level should be the same as human tears).

Chlorine tablets and granules are designed so that you can enjoy the fantastic leisure pursuit of swimming. So keep healthy and dive in!
