Bodybuilding at 50 Years Old – The Sport for All Ages

Bodybuilding is not just about bulging arms and sweaty bodies. It’s actually a great sport for all ages as you can vary the level of intensity to suit you. You can put in as much or as little effort as you like so you are in control. If you are over 50 and are looking for a new hobby or sport then I would definitely recommend bodybuilding and these are the reasons why.

Picture the scene. You’re friends are in the office discussing how they are going to be spending their weekend. One is off to the golf course, one has decided to do a spot of gardening and the other is going to spend a relaxing weekend with a good book. Wouldn’t it shock and amaze them if you were to tell them that you will be spending the weekend down the gym, pumping some pretty hefty weights and generally hanging out with people a lot younger than you who are all into bodybuilding just like you are? Bodybuilding is not reserved for the young and can be enjoyed by all age groups. The beauty of this sport is that you can push yourself as much or as little as you like and can take your time developing your muscles and increasing your weights.

Bodybuilding at 50 years old is likely to make your friends envious and make you feel like you’re a teenager again. It has many health benefits such as lowering your blood pressure, helping to lower your cholesterol and even helping fight off diabetes. Bodybuilding also burns off a lot of excess fat which makes bodybuilding for women over 40 extremely popular. So if you are feeling a little older than your years and want to change your body from some frumpy 50 year old to a toned, lean 50 year old then why not give bodybuilding a go? You won’t find any other sport more enjoyable (other than maybe the baseball on TV).
