Celebrities lead the way with sexy high heels. You can always find your favorite celebrity essentially modeling the latest shoe fashion on the various event carpets. It was not that long ago when Gwyneth Paltrow basically started the extreme high heel style by wearing very tall stiletto platform pumps by Italian designer Giuseppe Zanotti to her 2008 Iron Man premieres. The shoes she chose to wear had extreme heel height yet she paraded around to the various event looking very elegant and sophisticated. Since that time you have hardly see na starlet appear on the red carpet in anything but towering high heels.
These days it is not uncommon to find women wearing 4 to 5 inch heels for the most mundane daily activities. It used to be not long ago that to wear a shoe with a 4 inch heel usually was done to a fancy event event. And even then you were far more likely to see shorter heels worn.
