Many of the software program available can run into the several hundred dollars, even for the “basic” or “lite” versions. You might want to look around on the internet first before you buy, and consider some of the free alternatives that are out there. Or, some software publishers have demo versions available for download or review. This can give you a chance to try the software package first, before you spend hundreds of dollars on something you can’t take back or return. Many of the free alternatives are also very high quality, and may suffice to get your child started on a subject. After moving on to more advanced topics, then you could buy a more robust, affordable software package.
