With more and more manufacturing jobs leaving the area (or country for that matter) the new place to make money will likely be the service industry. Those who learn not just how to cook, but how to make an experience out of their meal, from great presentation to exceptional customer orientated service should find a great career. The best place to start is to get enrolled in one of the great culinary arts schools. On top of this I recommend you apprentice at whatever level you can find under a qualified chef. This will give you the true hands on experience where you can apply what you learn at school immediately.
